While the upstairs accommodation can be seen as “Yin”, the Gabaha cafe downstairs has been realised as Yang for it. Whether it's with the design concept or the choice of color theme itself, we have tried to create a contrast whilst complementing the other gorgeously.
The concept being the same we maximized the area of the space not compromising the requirement of the clients. With full glazed facades the cafe looks very inviting and current. With an aesthetic yet functional counter facing the streets, the vibrant seatings under the warm lights, it sure is a head turner, especially in the evenings. The apartments approached a modern and clean design whereas we went with a rustic, old and industrial approach for the cafe. The cement painted walls and stained wooden furniture gives a rustic and timeless look and feel to the cafe. The corridor on the right side of the cafe’ which leads to upstairs shares a partition with the cafe that has been fabricated with old window/door frames (that we salvaged from the building) and frosted glass. This partition addresses the issue of the corridor being rather dark and uninviting by giving light and a sense of brightness with pop colours painted on the frames of the partition in hopes to create the identity of the cafe in social media.
As different as it could be both of the spaces complemented each other with Minimal approach for the design.
