Hostel Nextdoor was designed with the intention to allow travelers to feel cozy and at home with a hint of sophistication and a whole lot of welcomeness. The main idea was to create a space where travelers could relax after their numerous travels while still feeling like they were at home. The requirements were to provided dorms, standard and deluxe rooms along with café/restaurant spaces to help brighten the atmosphere.
Staying true to its meaning, the dorm rooms are equipped with bunk beds and shared room spaces. This increases not only a sense of belongingness but also allows them to interact with each other and form bonds in a country new to each other. Despite having a space for interaction, the dorms and shared rooms have partitions and curtains to allow for privacy when need be.
The standard room encompasses a cozy and comfy vibe. Sporting its own private balcony the deluxe room manages to have a cozy and chill atmosphere at the same time. The addition of a balcony allows the user to have a space to disappear to when they want some alone time. Along with this, it uplifts the ambience of the room creating a nook for the user.
Capturing the vibes of the rustic mountainous outdoors, the restaurant/bar/café space is designed to be interactive. Creating an open kitchen where the users can order or cook by themselves introduces newer cuisines to people looking to trying different cuisines and also allows them to cultivate their culinary skills if they choose to do so. The kitchen counter and a common seating area promote the travelers to come together to share their stories building a community.
The introduction of an outdoor bar and BBQ area with a picnic bench prompts interaction and spaces to unwind and chill closing the gap with nature enjoying the ambient air. The logo for Hostel Nextdoor encompasses what they preach – just a big communal table. They believe that a communal table is a great prompt to ask “ what do I bring to the table?” So as a result they are committed to create spaces where travelers can come and share stories and from bonds.
The building gives off a cool atmosphere with the blue contrasting on the other wise white building paying homage to and honoring their logo. The blue tone has allowed the building to stand out yet give off a homey vibe attracting travelers. As of now, Raithaane also shares a spaces in Hostel Nextdoor.
